Our video will outline the materials needed, the steps to take, as well as some hints on how to do this easy maintenance task. It's important to change your car's oil at regular intervals. Your car's manual will tell you how often you should change the oil for the best engine performance. The oil in your engine performs lubrication for moving parts in your car. Over time, the oil will pick up dirt and debris. To keep your engine running well, it's a good idea to change the oil on the manufacturer's suggested schedule.

How to Change Your Oil

Check your owner's manual to find the type of oil your car needs. Then gather your supplies:
  • Oil
  • Appropriate wrenches
  • Funnel
  • Gloves
  • Oil Pan
  • Oil Filter
  • Jack & Jack Stands
The best temperature for your engine should be warm, but it should not hot. Jack up your car using the jack and jack stands you have gathered. Find the oil filter and drain plug, and put the pan underneath. Remove the drain plug and let the old oil drain away, then put the plug back. Unscrew the old filter, wipe away old oil, add the new oil, and insert the new filter. Run the car for 30 seconds to watch for leaks, and bring your car down from the jacks. Check the oil level with the dipstick. You have finished your first oil change! Always be sure to dispose of oil properly. Our video will help you with little tips and tricks to do this process correctly. Simply follow the steps we've outlined and you'll be able to save money and do this job at home.
